I saw this in Fine Homebuilding magazine - it's called a Dryerbox - a metal housing for the dryer's flexible exhaust pipe. It's a great solution to the old problem of the long tube bunching up behind the dryer and preventing it from sitting flush against the wall. And I ordered it on the web! Also interesting is the metal plate on the wall's sill (circled at left) - this will prevent the drywall guys from driving nails & screws into the pipe. We could have used one those on my parents' Walnut Drive house (right, Dad?:)
