The flooring guy started installing the oak flooring today. He started in the "upstairs hall" (at the top of the stairs) and will work his way down. Notice the border (boards running parallel to the wall) at the right edge - the "standard" way they install flooring is to just install all the boards going the same direction, but I wanted a bit more detail. Borders were more common in "the old days", and I think that it gives things a more handcrafted appearance.
